15th Annual Dining in the Dark

Our event this year was a rousing success with a great time had by all! A special thanks to all our wonderful volunteers, Board members, staff, students, new guests, Jason Colannino (our wonderful singer/musician/entertainer), and our inspiring guest speaker, Dr. Mark Werner of Delray Eye Care, a leader in treatment for glaucoma.

And a HUGE thank you to PBSO’s SWAT TEAM who volunteer every year to work tirelessly at our event. Wearing night vision goggles, they guide participants into the darkened ballroom and serve us a decadent 3-course meal.

The “Annual Dr. Thomas Hartig Dining in the Dark” is a unique event to increase awareness about blindness and raise funds for our Florida Outreach Center for the Blind. This event honors Dr. Thomas Hartig who brought newspapers via the telephone to blind and visually-impaired persons across the country. He was an inspiration to us all.
